ENTRE EL AIRE Y EL AGUA
AMID THE WATER AND THE AIR

We live amid the air and the water. Climate is becoming more extreme and floods are happening with increasing frequency. Water takes its path, even tracing it back in time. This parade was inspired by a conversation with Eric Sanderson about his Welikia Project, a deep dive into how our land looked 500 years ago. The very areas that flood most today were once rivers, lakes, and streams. Corona, Queens is built on wetlands. Where lakes once existed; parks now stand. Where streams flowed; homes now are flooded.
