Yunza: Growing Our Roots

This participatory installation at Brooklyn Botanic Garden is Inspired by the Peruvian Yunza where a transplanted tree brings abundance in a community celebration. Like this sacrificed tree, immigrants carry abundant traditions far from their roots.

The structure layout is based in the Aymara cosmovision portraying the future in the back represented with education and sustainability; because we can only move forward facing our past represented in the front with the symbols of civilizations around the world.
